Thirty-two years ago on September 17, 1970, a few car enthusiasts formed what is now 20th Century Chevy, Inc. at Les's Poolroom on S.E. Third Street in Washington, Indiana.

In 1973, the club purchased a small two-room house located just outside the city limits, near Oak Grove Cemetery.  We have remodeled and added to the house, turning it into a club facility with over 1600 square feet of heated and cooled space.  It is at this facility that the members hold their weekly meetings.  Also, we have constructed an additional two-car, heated garage adjacent to the club building.

We have surpassed our original goal of meeting to discuss cars, which is still our major interest, and have become involved in several projects of benefit to the community.

For the past thirty-eight years, the club has brightened the lives of some of the less fortunate people at Christmas time by buying and collecting gifts and food for them, as well as organizing Christmas Parades on two different occasions.

The Club has made various improvements at the Eastside Park which is the site of the event that we are the most proud of, our annual Carfest & Cruiz-In. This event gives the people of the surrounding counties a chance to see at least 500 "prize" cars on display at the park.

Most recently, the club has established a perpetual fund with the Daviess County Community Foundation to make sure that Eastside Park, which has been so good to them, has funding in the years to come.
